Hunting Duck and Sora

 VETERAN HUNTER
Richmond, Va., Jan. 20. -Andrew Krouse, veteran hunter and Confederate veteran, the only surviving member of the original Blues, has just returned from Holtz Creek Club, on the Pamunkey River, where he and his nephew, Edward W. Krouse, Sr., bagged sixty-four Mallards and two geese in two days' hunting.
For twenty-five years president of the Holtz Creek Club, in New Kent County, Andrew Krouse has hunted since boyhood and probably is the oldest duck hunter in Virginia. Mr. Krouse hunted with President Grover Cleveland. For the past sixty years he has never missed hunting sora.

-Southside Sentinel(Urbanna), 30 January 1925

The Holtz Creek Club should be the Holts Creek Club after the tributary of the Pamunkey at Cumberland Marsh.
